MEET JULIE

Faith has never been a footnote in Julie's life. It has always been a billboard. Julie was raised in the church from an early age. When she was five, her father, the late Reverend John F. Steel, was ordained as a pastor, and the church became home. Four years later, during a revival service, something shifted. Deeply convicted by her father's altar call, nine-year-old Julie ran to the altar, repented of her sins, and gave her life to God. That moment would define her forever.

But like many, she found her teenage years brought distance. She stepped away from the church and began to drift. Yet even in that season, her heart remained tender toward God. She never stopped searching. She never stopped longing to return to His loving arms. When she finally returned... fully, completely, with nothing held back, the experience was not unlike the song Alabaster Box. That song is her testimony.

Within a year of recommitting her life to Christ, Julie stepped into leadership. At the Christ Miracle and Healing Center Church, founded by the late Pastor Frances E. Thomas, Julie co-founded a youth group, "The Unicorns," with her sister in Christ, Anntina. She developed an original Bible study curriculum, organized community events, and led initiatives that left a lasting impact on the young people she served. Decades later, many former members still seek her wisdom and counsel — a testament to the seeds planted in those early years.

From there, Julie felt a divine commission to launch an adult Bible study group she named "Girlfriendz in God"— an in-depth study of Scripture, line upon line, precept upon precept, from Genesis to Revelation. What began as a women's study quickly grew. Husbands, inspired by their wives' deepening biblical knowledge, were invited to join. Julie welcomed them, expanded the group, and renamed it W.I.N.G.S., a ministry that became the foundation for her discipleship manual.

For the past decade, Julie has wholeheartedly dedicated herself to the Great Commission — making disciples of men and women who are biblically grounded, spiritually mature, and actively engaged in their faith. Her innovative Discipleship Training Camps have gained widespread recognition for fostering intimate, transformative relationships with Christ.

Her teaching ministry — built on faith, obedience, and a servant's heart — earned her the Servant Leader Award, a recognition that reflects not only her accomplishments but also the spirit in which she leads.

Driven by a desire to carry the Gospel further, Julie founded the podcasts Cross Talk and Prophet Margins — safe, empowering spaces where listeners are educated, inspired, and equipped to walk in their God-given purpose.

Every platform Julie occupies, every room she enters, every life she touches — all flows from that moment when a nine-year-old girl ran to the altar and never truly looked back.

This is her story, and God is still writing it.
